The Government Primary school
in village Gandwa now has a
fresh lease of life, with Shokat, a
Satya-jyoti representative
volunteering to teach the children.

Children from the village are once
again coming back to study.

The root cause of almost all
problems that afflict this
community is the lack of
education. While the Government
has all the facilities, in the
absence of adequate monitoring,
the school has hardly been
operating.

Satya-jyoti's role is to make the
villager's aware of their rights and
empower them by helping create
a VILLAGE DEVELOPMENT
COMMITEE which now demands
the teacher's presence and
involvement in teaching so that
children can go to school.

With collaboration from other
NGO's like Pratham and White
Lotus, we are able to inform the
villagers about the Right to
education Act.
